How to Uninstall

Windows

The method of uninstalling varies depending on Windows, so please refer to the section for your Windows.

Windows 7

Use the Windows Control Panel to perform the following steps to uninstall.

  1. You must deactivate the license before uninstalling. Refer to the instructions in “How to Deactivate License” to deactivate the license.
  2. Please open “Control Panel”. Then select “Programs and Features”.
  3. When the list of programs appears, double-click “OPTPiX SpriteStudio 6”.
  4. The software that performs the uninstall process will start, so press OK to execute it.

This completes the uninstallation.

Windows 8.1

The method differs depending on the uninstall screen.

How to proceed from the Start screen

  1. You must deactivate the license before uninstalling. Refer to the instructions in “How to Deactivate License” to deactivate the license.
  2. Open the Start screen and long press or right-click the OPTPiX SpriteStudio icon.
  3. Select “uninstall”.
  4. The software that performs the uninstall process will start, so press OK to execute it.

How to proceed from the Desktop screen

  1. You must deactivate the license before uninstalling. Refer to the instructions in “How to Deactivate License” to deactivate the license.
  2. Right-click Start and select “Control Panel” from the menu that appears.
  3. When the control panel opens, select “Programs”.
  4. Then select “Uninstall a program”.
  5. Select “OPTPiX SpriteStudio 6” from the list of installed programs.
  6. Select “Uninstall/Change”.
  7. The software that performs the uninstall process will start, so press OK to execute it.

This completes the uninstallation.

Windows 10

Provides uninstall instructions.

  1. You must deactivate the license before uninstalling. Refer to the instructions in “How to Deactivate License” to deactivate the license.
  2. Select “Settings” from the Start menu.
  3. The “Apps” menu opens. Select “Windows settings”.
  4. Make sure the “Apps & features” item is displayed.
  5. Select “OPTPiX SpriteStudio 6” from the list of applications that can be uninstalled.
  6. Click the “Uninstall” button.
  7. The message “This app and its related info will be uninstalled.” appears. Press the “Uninstall” button that appears at the same time.
  8. The software that performs the uninstall process will start, so press OK to execute it.

This completes the uninstallation.


Uninstalling SpriteStudio does not remove any new files created by SpriteStudio. Please remove the files manually after uninstalling.

Mac

  1. You must deactivate the license before uninstalling. Refer to the instructions in “How to Deactivate License” to deactivate the license.
  2. Move the SpriteStudio application you are installing to the Trash.

To delete files that do not disappear after uninstalling

SpriteStudio creates the files and folders described below in the SpriteStudio “Documents/SpriteStudio” folder. (* For Mac “Documents/SpriteStudio/”)

If you want to remove all information about SpriteStudio, use File Explorer (Finder on Mac) to remove these files.

Remove the files used by SpriteStudio Ver.6.

SpriteStudio Ver.6 Usage File List

  • SsOption_v6.ssop (configuration information)
  • SpriteStudio.log (log file)
  • SSLicenseInfo_v6.dat (License Information)
  • SsKeyBindings.xml
  • logs folder (past log files)

If you uninstalled the beta version of SpriteStudio Ver.6, remove “SsOption_v6_beta.ssop” instead of “SsOption_v6.ssop”.

Important points when updating to a newer version (windows)

Before installing a new version, uninstall the version installed on your computer.

If you install a newer version of SpriteStudio over your current version, any files that are not used by the newer version remain in the installation folder when you uninstall.

If files remain after uninstalling, please delete them manually.
