\"program\"<\/a>The format of the self-extracting program<\/a> contained in the self-extracting executable file<\/a> is specified with the [Detailed Settings: Program]<\/span> dialog box.<\/p>\n

Program type of self-extracting file<\/h3>\n

To specify [32bit]<\/span> or [64bit]<\/span> for\u00a0self-extracting program<\/a>.<\/p>\n

When [64bit]<\/span> is specified, the program can start only on 64-bit versions of Windows OS. This option must be turned on in order to copy files to folders that only 64-bit programs can access or to register 64-bit versions of COM server and ActiveX controls.<\/p>\n

When [32bit]<\/span> is specified, the program is prohibited from running on 64-bit versions of the Windows OS.<\/p>\n

Application manifest of the self-extracting file<\/h3>\n

The application manifest embedded in the program can be changed.<\/p>\n

* The application manifest can be used only with Windows Vista and later and Windows Server 2008 or later. It is ignored by Windows XP and Windows Server 2003.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
Standard (require promotion to administrative rights)<\/th>\n\n

Requires elevating to administrator rights in order to run the self-extracting executable file.<\/p>\n

The self-extracting executable file that is run by elevating the rights can write to the system folder (Program Files, etc.) or the Shared Registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, etc.).<\/p>\n

Use this manifest with the \u201cCreate a shared shortcut for all users\u201d function or when performing uninstaller registration.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Standard (Do not require promotion to administrative rights)<\/th>\n\n

Does not require elevating to administrator rights in order to run the self-extracting executable file.<\/p>\n

When using this manifest, the program cannot write to the system folder or the shared registry, but the self-extracting executable file can be run on systems on which administrator rights are not available such as a shared PC, and the user account control (UAC) warning message displays can be suppressed.<\/p>\n

This option can be used when creating a self-extracting executable file that is primarily for distributing data files, such as only extracting files to the desktop.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Use user-specified manifest file<\/th>\n\n

The content of any separate file can be used as the manifest.<\/p>\n

Advanced settings for self-extracting files<\/h3>\n

Advanced settings can be performed for the self-extracting program. Normally, there is no need to turn this option on. <\/a><\/p>\n

Sufficient knowledge of EXE format program files is required to make these settings. The program will not operate properly if illegal values are set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
Targeted OS version for the file header<\/th>\n\n

Changes the numeric value of the target OS version embedded in the program file header.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Targeted sub-system version for the file header<\/th>\n\n

Changes the numeric value of the target subsystem version embedded in the program file header.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
