Alpha Blending Color Reduction

Alpha Blending Color Reduction SampleThe major full color retouch software, such as Adobe® Photoshop® cannot apply color reduction on an alpha plane. To limit the size of texture while using various effects of transparency by Alpha value of many phases, we have to benefit from an indexed color with a RGBA palette.
Creating optimized RGBA palette achieved by the ultimate color reduction engine, iMageStudio is, on the other hand, enable to produce an indexed color image with RGBA palette of less than 256 colors from a full color image including alpha channel (32 bit RGBA).

Alpha Blending Color Reduction Function does not simply apply color reduction to RGB + Alpha. iMageStudio offers a parameter for tuning Alpha Color Reduction, which is based on the newly developed algorithm for efficiently producing a palette with alpha value. By varying a parameter that allows sensitive controls of the color reduction engine characteristics, iMageStudio accomplishes the best optimized palette with alpha channel without distracting image quality.

Apply this handy function to check an actual image display on TV monitor!

TIM2 format
TIM2 is an exclusive image format for PlayStation 2. It is designed to cope with PlayStation 2 hardware specs, and you can directly transfer the TIM2 image to PlayStation 2. The format fully utilizes PlayStation 2 hardware, supporting direct/indexed color image, alpha channel, multiple images, multiple CLUTs, and MIPMAP.
TIM2 is designed and implemented by Web Technology Corp. iMageStudio for PlayStation 2 is a official tool for TIM2 and draws out most features of the format.

Remote Display Function
Remote Display enables instant preview of image on TV via a testing tool. Because of the difference of color appearance on PC monitor and "PlayStation 2" output (TV), game artists are required to check image colors on both PC and TV monitors for the final color arrangement.
